Sandra F. (Boyington) Hobson

Sandra F. (Boyington) Hobson

Bristol, CT

Sandra F. (Boyington) Hobson, 83, passed away peacefully after a long illness on March 10, 2026, surrounded by her loving family.

Born in Bristol on January 2, 1943, she was the daughter of the late Francis Milton and Constance Amelia (Bucchieri) Boyington. Raised and educated in Bristol, Sandra graduated from Bristol Eastern High School with the Class of 1961. She married the love of her life, John M. Hobson, and together they built a life centered on family and hard work. The couple raised their three children in Southington before moving to Plainville. In her later years, Sandra returned to her hometown of Bristol, where she lived with her daughter and son-in-law, who cared for her devotedly for seven years and made certain her sweet tooth was always satisfied.

Sandra retired after 25 years of service with the State of Connecticut, having worked for the Department of Education, the Office of Policy Management, and the Department of Public Utility Control in New Britain. She also proudly supported her husband in the family business, Hobson Trucking Co. of Plainville. She and John shared many happy years traveling with friends and creating treasured memories. Above all, Sandra loved being a grandmother. Her grandchildren meant the world to her, and she cherished every moment spent with them, making memories, sharing family recipes, and surrounding them with love.

She will be remembered for her devotion to her family, her warmth, and the joy she found in the simple moments spent with those she loved so deeply. She is survived by her children, Richard Hobson, Pamela Sharp and her husband Dennis, with whom she made her home, and Michele Spooner and her husband Brian; and her pride and joy, her seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
