Schulenburg, TX

Sandra Elaine Robinson was born on June 11, 1969, in Schulenburg, Texas, to Y.C. Bates and Mary Lee Robinson. She accepted Christ at an early age, and her faith remained a guiding light throughout her life. In her youth she attended Saint James Missionary Baptist Church in Schulenburg and later became a devoted member of Pleasant Union Missionary Baptist Church. Sandra graduated from Schulenburg High School with the Class of 1989.

She began her career in the restaurant and fast-food industry, advancing into leadership and management roles through her dedication and natural ability to lead. Later she found deep fulfillment in private-duty caregiving, compassionately tending to the elderly and a child with special needs. Known for her generosity and warmth, Sandra touched everyone she met. Affectionately called “Grasshopper” or “Hopper” by many, she was truly the heart of her family.

Sandra passed away peacefully on March 5, 2026, at Hermann Memorial in Sugar Land, Texas. She was preceded in death by her parents and her paternal and maternal grandparents.

She is survived by her children, Marlon Robinson (Markendra) of Houston, Monica Wilson, Madison Harris, and MaKendra Harris of Schulenburg; her sister, Tracey Wicks (Reginald) of Richmond; four grandchildren, Ace, Amara, Gainnis, and Malaysia; her nephew Tyrell Robinson (Kim) and his children Bailey and Bonnie of College Station, with whom she shared a special bond; cousins Sue Lucky, James Shelby, and Donnie Shelby; dear friend Lacy Jarmon; and a host of other family and friends who will forever treasure her memory.
