Olaechea Reynoso GriswoldSandra "Sandy" Griswold passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 4, 2026, after a long and courageous battle with cancer.Sandy was born in Lima, Peru, the only daughter of the late Luisa (Matilda) Reynoso. She moved to Connecticut in 1962 and graduated from Northwest Catholic High School.In 1968, Sandy met and married the love of her life, Gerald W. Griswold. Their 58-year love story began in West Hartford before they purchased their first home in Ellington in 1974, where they lovingly raised their three daughters. In 1989, they moved to Somers, where they continued to build a life centered around family.Prior to her retirement, Sandy worked at The Hartford as an Actuarial Coordinator in Simsbury. She was known for her dedication, warmth, and the friendships she formed during her career.Sandy found great joy in life's simple pleasures. She loved spending time with her beloved fur babies, Lola and Dakota, hosting family Sunday dinners, and taking trips up North-especially visits to Yankee Candle. Above all, Sandy was a loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who cherished every moment spent with her family.She is survived by her husband, Gerald W. Griswold; her children, Tammy Hebert of Concord, NH, Jessica Pierson Regan and her husband Kevin Regan of Ellington, and Melissa Ahern of Norfolk, MA; and her nine grandchildren, Mikey Hebert, Caitlin Hebert, Carissa Hebert, Matthew Pierson, Joshua Pierson, Brendan Ahern, Dylan Ahern, Larissa Regan, and Shayla Regan.Funeral services will be coordinated by John F. Tierney Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Luke's Church, 141 Maple Street, Ellington, on Thursday, March 12, 2026, at 11:00 a.m., with a reception immediately following. A private burial will take place at the Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Agawam at a later date.In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Sandy's memory may be made to the ASPCA at https:// www.ASPCA.org/To plant trees in memory, please visit the Sympathy Store.
