Sandra Cathryne Richbourg

Sandra Cathryne Richbourg passed away on March 11, 2026. Born on October 10, 1947, she was preceded in death by her beloved parents, William (Bill) A. Richbourg and Cathryne Price Richbourg, and her sister, Cynthia Richbourg Bryant.

A charter member of the former St. Giles Presbyterian Church and its “Amen Corner,” Sandra cherished studying the Bible. She never missed the North Carolina State Fair or a family reunion, eagerly awaited the start of the NFL season, looked forward to the major PGA tournaments, enjoyed old movies on television, and held a special affection for dogs and birds.

Before retiring in 2013, Sandra was honored by Wake County as its longest-tenured employee with 45 years of service, primarily in the Child Services Division. She is survived by her cousins J. Phillip Price, Barbara Price Whiteway, and Mark Bowers, as well as former neighbors Joanne and Burks Crumpler and many dear friends. Her family extends deep gratitude to the staff at Brighton Gardens of Raleigh, Fresenius Kidney Care Central—especially Gene, Kit, Pam, Jackie, Georgia, and Dr. Jain—and the compassionate team at Transitions LifeCare for their attentive and gentle care. Special thanks are also given to Oak City Taxi for their reliable transportation to her dialysis appointments.
