Sandra (Sandy) Bush

Sandra Bush, known affectionately as Sandy, of Blythewood, South Carolina, passed away on March 13, 2026, at the age of 80, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on December 27, 1945, in Asheville, North Carolina, to the late Oscar Havener, Jr. and Frances Lyday Havener.

Sandy enjoyed a long and successful career with the South Carolina Department of Emergency Management, where she worked for more than twenty years before retiring. In her free time, she found purpose and joy in volunteering at Lexington Medical Center. She is remembered as a devoted mother, grandmother, and sister whose faith remained a guiding light throughout her life.

She is survived by her daughters, Anna L. Bush of Gaston, South Carolina, and Sherry B. Key of Elgin, South Carolina; grandchildren Amanda McCurry (Jeffery) of Charlotte, North Carolina, Thomas Allen Bush of West Columbia, South Carolina, and Ashley Kinsey of Lugoff, South Carolina; great-grandchildren Connor McCurry and Amelia McCurry of Charlotte, North Carolina; her brother Richard Havener of Cayce, South Carolina; and nephews Calvin Havener of Fayetteville, North Carolina, and Bryan Havener of Cayce, South Carolina. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother Gerald Havener.
