San Juana T. Ramirez

December 28, 1947 March 16, 2026

San Benito, TX

San Juana T. Ramirez passed into eternal rest on March 16, 2026. She was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

Born in San Ygnacio, Texas, on December 28, 1947, San Juana—known affectionately as Janie or Juanita to many—married Reynaldo Ramirez in Brownfield, Texas, in 1965. Together they raised five children, all born in Brownfield. The family lived in Seagraves, Texas, until 1977 before making their permanent home in San Benito, Texas, in 1979. She worked as a custodian for the Los Fresnos Independent School District for eight years before retiring. She found joy in cooking, sewing, dancing, and singing, blessed with a beautiful voice that filled her home with gospel, country, and Tejano music. A woman of deep Christian faith, she lived with unwavering kindness, patience, and an ability to see the good in everyone she met.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Miguel and Lucilla Trevino; her brothers, Abelardo, Adolfo, and Roberto Trevino; her son, Juan De Dios Ramirez; and her great-granddaughter, Ehlani Rae Garza.

San Juana is survived by her loving husband, Reynaldo Ramirez; her children, Nestora Ramirez Dominguez (Nicolas), Elda Ramirez (Danny), Enemencio Ramirez, and Maria del Rosario Casanova; her grandchildren, Carrie Alison Segura (Roberto Carlos), Christina Aguirre (Garylee Tamez), Rosalee Dominguez (Alfonso Villafuerte), Juan Pablo Ramirez (Kimberly), Crystal Arizemendi, Michael Rey Ramirez, Emily Ann Ramirez, Leonel Casanova Jr. (Rosa), Osanna Rose Casanova (Juan Garza), and Valerie Marie Casanova; and her great-grandchildren, Roberto Carlos, Raelene Catelyn, Kailye Aylana, Eli Angel, Garlyee Zeke, Autumn Lacie, Audra Lynn, Natividad Nicolas, Julian Alejandro, Jaemi, Chris, Ethan, EJay, Marcus Isaiah, Destiny Rae, Emma Galilea, and Etzahael Rey. She was an angel among us on earth and will be deeply missed by all whose lives she touched.
