Moncks Corner, SC

Samuel Woodrow Lassiter Jr., known to many as "Sam," was born on March 6, 1952, in Eustis, FL, a son of Samuel Woodrow Lassiter and Mary Woodard Lassiter. He entered eternal rest at his home in Moncks Corner on February 28, 2026.

Sam’s professional journey took him from Car Quest Auto Parts to Gates Rubber Company, where he worked until his retirement. A United States Air Force veteran, he served his country with honor, embodying the values of commitment and service throughout his life.

In addition to his career and military service, Sam was passionate about life’s simple pleasures. He enjoyed barefoot skiing when he was younger, bird hunting and fishing. His adventurous spirit was reflected in his love for hiking and bicycling, alongside an undeniable enthusiasm for attending car shows, particularly with his AC Cobra that he cherished.

Sam is survived by his wife of 35 years, Judie; his daughter, Jenny Egnor, and her husband, Elijah; and his brother, David Lassiter. The family extends to include his stepchildren, Kenny Adams and his wife Shelly, as well as Melinda Norris and her husband Paul. He was step-grandfather to Kenneth Adams and his wife Kelly and Madison Adams, Jasmine and Joshua Norris, Dylan, Nichole, and Isabella Rietz, and Malaya Weeks, and he also leaves behind six step-great-grandchildren.

A graveside service to honor and celebrate Sam’s life will be held on Saturday, March 14, 2026, at St. John's Baptist Church Cemetery in Pinopolis, South Carolina, at 11:00 AM.
