As he peacefully passed into the hands of our Lord, he was surrounded and embraced by his wife, Marti and his daughter, Jenifer.Samuel Jones was commissioned as an Infantry Officer in 1969 and was designated an Army Aviator in 1970. He retired from the U.S. Army Reserve in 1994 with the rank of Lieutenant Colonel and holds the designation of Master Army Aviator.Samuel was preceded in death by his son, Jason Jones.He is survived by his wife, Martha Jones (Marti) of Kerrville, TX; his daughter, Jenifer Kunde and husband Kirk Kunde of Fredericksburg, TX; his sister, Sandra Poppell of Tallahassee, FL; grandchildren, Brandi Liotta and husband Tom Liotta of Orlando, FL, Ariel Kunde and husband Jordi Lluch of Charlotte, NC, Kieran Kunde of Phoenix, AZ, Kylar Kunde and wife Harley Kunde of Phoenix, AZ; and great-grandchildren, Leon Friend and Nil Lluch.Samuel was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He dedicated is life to God, his family, and his country.Services for Samuel will be held at 11 AM, Tuesday, March 24, 2026, at Trinity Baptist Church, officiated by Rev. John Wheat.Graveside services will be held at 10:45 AM, Wednesday, March 25, 2026, at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery in San Antonio.To plant trees in memory, please visit the Sympathy Store.
