Samuel Hulet Holbrooks

Samuel Hulet “Sammy” Holbrooks, age 77, of Toccoa, Georgia, passed away peacefully at home on March 11, 2026. Born on March 9, 1949, in Toccoa, he was the son of the late Fairy Fancy Holbrooks and Grace Rudeseal Holbrooks. Sammy spent his entire life in the community he loved and was a longtime member of Old Union Baptist Church.

He dedicated 36 years of his working life to Tugalo Construction Company, where he was known for his diligence and commitment. Sammy found deep satisfaction in simple pleasures. He took great pride in keeping his lawn immaculate, enjoyed fishing, driving the back roads of Georgia in his truck, and was an avid NASCAR fan. His sense of humor and genuine love for family gatherings brought warmth and laughter to everyone around him.

He is survived by his wife, Virginia “Ginger” Weaver Holbrooks; sons Mark Holbrooks (Darlene) of Simpsonville, South Carolina, and Jason Holbrooks (Rachel) of Toccoa, Georgia; grandchildren Cole Holbrooks, Natalie Holbrooks, Nichole Watson (Gentry), Olivia Holbrooks, and Katie Holbrooks; sisters Jeanette Bohannon (Johnny), Judy Weaver (Mike), Nancy Smith of Toccoa, and Pamela Bush (Damon) of Cornelia; brother Danny Holbrooks of Toccoa; and brother Russell Holbrooks (Tammy) of Eastanollee, along with many nieces, nephews, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers Richard Holbrooks and Tim Holbrooks. Sammy will be laid to rest at Stephens Memorial Gardens.
