Samuel "Sam" Gonzales

Samuel “Sam” Gonzales, 86, of Bernalillo, NM, passed away peacefully at home on March 7, 2026. Born on April 12, 1939, in Pecos, NM, Sam lived in Bernalillo for over 40 years. He was the beloved son of Ramon and Albinita Gonzales.

Sam was married to Antonia Gonzales for 65 years until her passing on July 10, 2020.

He was preceded in death by his brothers Max, Leo, and Richard Gonzales; his sister Erlinda Martinez; and his great-grandson Justice Whittington.

Sam is survived by his loving children: Sam Gonzales (Rose), Jimmy Gonzales (Bobby Jo), Lorrie Martinez (Donald), and Jerry Gonzales (Laura). He also leaves behind his brothers Willie (Gloria) and Ray (Patsy), and his sister Ida (Tom).

He cherished his grandchildren Vanessa, Richard, Erin, Jesus, Renee, Amy, and Victoria, as well as his great-grandchildren Angelique, Samara, Alicia, Marissa, Desiree, and Rosalee.

Sam will be remembered for his devotion to family, his enduring love for his wife, and the joy he brought to all who knew him.

Services will take place at Our Lady of Sorrows Church, 301 S Camino Del Pueblo, Bernalillo, on Friday, March 27. The Rosary will begin at 10:30 AM, with Mass to follow.
