Samuel Edgar Newcomer II

Samuel Edgar Newcomer II, a devoted father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on March 4, 2026, in Norfolk, Virginia, just days before his 67th birthday. Born on March 10, 1959, in Daytona Beach, Florida, he spent his formative years there before graduating from Sea Breeze High School and earning an Associate’s Degree in Florida.

Samuel built a distinguished career as an Executive Chef, bringing joy to patrons at several renowned restaurants until his retirement. He held a deep passion for the culinary arts, music, and sports. An avid guitarist and golfer, he found genuine pleasure both in the kitchen and on the golf course.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Samuel E. Newcomer and Leone Newcomer. Samuel is survived by his daughters, Jessica and Hallie Newcomer, his grandson, Alexander Glueck-Newcomer, and his sisters, Jody Burch and Kitty Crouch, along with many other loving family members and friends.

Born in Daytona Beach, he later lived in South Carolina, returned to Florida in 1993, and settled again in Virginia in 2008, where he spent the remainder of his life.
