Samuel Benny Treesh

Samuel Benny Treesh, 90, of Elkhart, passed away on March 8, 2026, at East Lake Nursing Home.

Born on July 27, 1935, in Lagrange County, Indiana, Samuel was the son of Donald Sr. and Irene (Meyer) Treesh. He served his country in the United States Army before marrying Betty Kent on May 30, 1975. The couple shared 51 devoted years together until her passing on January 21, 2026.

Samuel was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend whose steady presence and quiet strength brought comfort and joy to those around him. He will be remembered for his enduring love, laughter, and the deep bonds he formed with his family.

He is survived by his children, Leesa (Kevin) Sturgis, Joe (Karen) Treesh, Pam (Mike) Hunsberger, and Diana (Danny) Davis; grandchildren, Taylor (Zac) Paxson, Samantha (Jack) Han, Heather (Theodore) Stevens, Holly (Dan) Rhodes, and Jim (Vanessa) Ogle Jr.; great-grandchildren, Amelia, August, Oliver, Ezra Stevens, Brooke and Ben Rhodes, Wyatt Paxson, and baby Han on the way; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Samuel was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Treesh; his parents; his daughter, Michelle Treesh; his son, James Ogle; his brother, Donald Treesh Jr.; and his sister, Betty Faux.
