August 7, 1960— March 8, 2026
Kansas City, MO
Samuel Alvarado Elias, 65, of Kansas City, Missouri, passed away peacefully on March 8, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family.
Born on August 7, 1960, in Ciudad Juárez, Chihuahua, Mexico, Samuel grew up with his six siblings, forming deep family bonds and joyful memories that shaped his life. After meeting the love of his life, Martha, he became a devoted father to their daughters Danna and Nibia, and later welcomed their daughter Marisela, who completed their family. His three daughters were the light of his life, and he raised them with great pride.
In 1998, Samuel and Martha moved with their daughters and grandchildren Oziel and Ingrid to the United States, beginning a new chapter that would define the rest of their lives. A passionate home chef, Samuel took great joy in cooking and sharing meals with family and friends. To him, food was more than nourishment; it was a way to bring people together and express love. He remembered everyone’s favorite dishes and delighted in preparing meals that filled both tables and hearts.
Samuel also loved music and dancing, especially blues rock, classic rock and roll, oldies, and doo-wop. He would turn up the volume, snap his fingers, nod his head, and invite others to join him on the dance floor. Whether teaching his grandchildren swing steps or simply moving to the rhythm, he believed music was meant to be shared. He found peace outdoors, particularly while fishing at the lake, and cherished time spent with his brother Pedro. Above all, he treasured moments with his family. His quiet but sincere faith in God guided him through life’s challenges, and on October 25, 2025, he was baptized, openly dedicating his life to Christ.
Samuel is survived by his beloved wife, Martha Alvarado; his daughters and their partners, Marisela Alvarado and Alejandro Hernández, Danna and Francisco Hernández, and Nibia Flores; and his cherished grandchildren and their partners: Oziel Pruneda, Danna Ingrid and José González, Rene Ulloa-Flores, Denise Ulloa-Flores, Mildred Danaly Hernández-Flores and Dustin Cummings, Jackie Hernández and Karen Ambrocio, Samuel Hernández, Elena Ulloa-Flores, Alexander Hernández, Matthew VanCleave, Carmelita González, and Micah Cotton. He is also survived by his siblings Pedro Alvarado, Víctor Alvarado, Blanca Alvarado, Lydia Alvarado, and Benjamin Alvarado, along with many extended family members, friends, and neighbors whose lives were touched by his kindness and contagious smile.
He will be remembered for the love, generosity, laughter, and unforgettable moments he created around the table and on the dance floor, and for the joy and care he brought to everyone he knew.
