Samantha Prater-Ewing

Samantha Prater-Ewing, 54, of Akron, Ohio, passed away on March 11, 2026. Born on April 22, 1971, she was known for her big heart, strong spirit, and generous nature. Outspoken yet deeply caring, Samantha was the person family and friends could always count on. She had a special gift for bringing people together and remained a strong, positive presence in her neighborhood and community throughout her life.

She found joy in playing pool, traveling, and spending time with her family. Samantha embraced adventure and created lasting memories on trips to Kentucky, the beach, and the Dominican Republic. For those who knew her, every moment shared with her became a cherished memory.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, JR, their daughter, Alexis, and by Timmy, Tammy, Joey, Gidget, Lillian, Mommy, Nanna, Brenda, Tassie, Daddy, and Edith Ann.

Samantha is survived by her siblings Donna, Randy, Bridget, Cissy, Ray, and Pam; her children Baby Boy, Jackie (Jessica), Angel (Tony), Amanda, and Sonny (Bryan); and her grandchildren Aveah, Alexis, Tai, Kayden, Baby Tony, Prince, Colton, Riverleigh, Abriella, Kyson, Xander, Xena, and Sylas. She is also survived by her dear friends Chrissy and “Muff,” along with many other family members and friends who will miss her deeply.
