Sam Wong, 71, of Vernon Hills, Illinois, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by loved ones on Monday, March 9, 2026.

Born on February 27, 1955, in Hong Kong, Sam immigrated to Chicago in his early twenties in pursuit of the American dream. With determination and resilience, he built a life centered on hard work, opportunity, and deep devotion to his family. His journey from Hong Kong to the United States reflected the perseverance and quiet strength that defined his character. He took great pride in providing for his family and creating opportunities for the generations that followed.

Above all, Sam was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. His family was the center of his life, and he found immense joy in spending time with his children and grandchildren. He will be remembered for his kindness, humility, steady presence, and the love he showed to those closest to him. His legacy lives on in the family he cherished and the life he built through dedication, sacrifice, and care for others.

Sam is survived by his beloved wife, Lai Scheung; his daughter, Jennifer; his son, Alex; and his cherished grandchildren, Harrison and Sophie. He is also survived by his seven brothers and sisters, along with many extended family members and friends who will miss him dearly.
