Salwa Faraj ObituaryObituary published on Legacy.com by Lynch & Sons Funeral Directors - Clawson on Mar. 15, 2026.With hearts full of sorrow and sadness, we announce the passing of our beloved Salwa Dawisha Faraj, who entered eternal life in the hope of the resurrection on Thursday, March 12, 2026. She was 87 years old. Salwa was born April 16, 1938 in Basrah, Iraq to Yousif and Rose Dawisha as the first of six sisters.At a young age, Salwa was sent to England for secretarial school, before returning to Iraq during a time of political unrest. There, she became a respected executive assistant in the petroleum industry for many years.In 1975, during a visit to America, she accepted the hand of Sami Faraj, beginning a marriage rooted in faith and family. She was a devoted mother to Sammar and Ammar, and she lovingly dedicated herself to raising her children.Later, she returned to work as a secretary at St. Bede and the Chaldean Federation. Salwa loved fashion and culture. She found joy in other people, hosting parties and gathering people together. Her presence was elegant, sophisticated, warm, and uniquely her own. She will leave fond memories with all who knew her.Her faith in God, Jesus, and Mary sustained her throughout her life, and she found peace with a rosary in her hand. She spent her final years surrounded by the loving care of her sons, sisters, and Mercy, whose care for her grew into a bond of family.She was preceded in death by her parents, Yousif and Rose Dawisha; her husband, Sami Faraj; and her sister, Najat Dawisha Faraj, widow of the late Farook.She is lovingly remembered by her children, Sammar, with Keira, and Ammar, with Jennifer; her grandchildren, Dominic and Skylarr; and her sisters, Raja Dawisha Faraj, with Nazar; Nouhad Dawisha Najor, widow of the late Emmanuel; Ibtisam Dawisha; and Sama Dawisha Zori, with Raad."I am the resurrection and the life.
