Salvatore Sapia

Salvatore Sapia, 84, of Middletown, beloved husband of the late Phyllis (Amara) Sapia, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on March 6, 2026, at Middlesex Hospital. Born in Naples, Italy, he was the son of the late Angelo and Anna (Papa) Sapia. He immigrated to the United States from Melli, Sicily, in 1956. Salvatore learned the carpentry trade and took great pride in his building projects and in sharing his expertise with others. He found joy in tending his garden and, above all, in spending time with his family.

He is survived by his son, Angelo Sapia of Middletown; his daughters, Anna (Rich) Bartoli of Wolcott, Sue (Miguel) Ortiz of Middletown, and Julie (Darrin) Bryant of Middletown; ten grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. He is also survived by one brother, Frank Sapia, and three sisters, Joanne Siena, Michela Ragosta, and Maria Warmsley. He was predeceased by his sister, Josephine Lombardo.
