Salvador Remache

Salvador Remache Gavilanes was born on May 19, 1952, in the community of Chanchún, in the canton of Déleg, Ecuador, and passed away on March 12, 2026.

From a young age, Salvador was known for his strong work ethic and dedication to his family. He proudly served in the Armed Forces of Ecuador during his youth and, as the oldest brother, was always ready to help and guide his siblings Rosendo, Ricardo, Rosa, Florinda, and Teresa.

He later emigrated to the United States and settled in New York, where he married Hilda on January 18, 1987. Together they built a loving home and raised their children, Maribel and Diego. Salvador was a devoted husband, an exemplary father, and a cherished grandfather to Emily and Lucas, as well as a beloved father-in-law to Melvin and María.

He had a special passion for preserving memories, often seen with his camera or phone in hand, recording and interviewing family and friends during gatherings and celebrations. Those images and moments remain a lasting gift to everyone who loved him.
