Sally Schrader

Sally Schrader, 93, of Mishawaka, Indiana, died on March 7, 2026, after a courageous battle with cancer.

Born in Fort Wayne, Indiana, to George and Atha Fitzgerald, Sally graduated from Central Catholic High School, where she met the love of her life, Maurice Schrader. The high school sweethearts married on August 9, 1952, and shared 58 years together. In 1956 they moved to Mishawaka, the city that would remain their home for the rest of their lives.

Sally’s greatest joy was her family. She poured her heart into her roles as mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She is survived by her children James (Kristi) Schrader, Gerald (Julie) Schrader, Maureen Strange, Joseph (Linda) Schrader, and Elizabeth Schrader, as well as ten grandchildren—Emily, Kyle, Andrew, Abigail, Nicholas, Maxwell, Jacob, Daniel, Rebekah, and Samuel—and nine great-grandchildren—Hudson, Addison, Evelyn, Tatum, Tanner, Luca, Maya, Benjamin, and Brooks.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Maurice; her son, David; and her parents, George and Atha Fitzgerald. Sally will be remembered for her courage in the face of illness and the unwavering love she gave her family.
