Sally Mae Fisher, of Swartz Creek, Michigan, passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 12, 2026, at the age of 85, surrounded by loved ones at McLaren Regional Medical Center in Flint.

Sally grew up in Byron, Michigan, and graduated from the Education program at Michigan State University. She dedicated her career to teaching at Atherton High School, where she inspired generations of students as a Physical Education and History teacher. She also coached several girls’ varsity teams, modeling hard work, sportsmanship, and grace while shaping the lives of countless young athletes both on and off the field.

An active and adventurous spirit, Sally was an avid birder who traveled the world with her sisters, Nancy and Judy, on many memorable birding trips. She also found great joy in RV travel, embracing discovery and the beauty of new places wherever the road led. Kind, compassionate, and thoughtful, Sally brought warmth to everyone she met and possessed a wonderful sense of humor that created many cherished memories with family and friends.

She is lovingly remembered by her partner, Marcia Peterson; her nieces and nephews, Christie (Kenny) Stoops, Cindy Johnson, Cathy (Derald) Cramner, Connie (Joe) Barta, Carrie (Dave) Conner, Joe (Suzette) Snook, and Kimberly Snook; along with many great-nieces and great-nephews. Sally also leaves behind her beloved Maltese mix, Emma. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lyle and Lelah Mae Fisher, and her sisters, Nancy Jackson and Judy Snook.
