Sally Allison Hansen

Passed March 12, 2026

Wichita, KS

Sally Allison Duckworth Hansen was a woman of boundless warmth and quiet strength whose open heart and ready laughter drew people to her throughout her life. Born to T.A. Duckworth and Nell Edwina Nelson in Missouri, she grew up in Wisconsin, forming deep and lasting bonds with her sisters, Jane and Celeste. It was at Camp Manito-wish that she met the love of her life, David, beginning a devoted 60-year marriage that carried them across continents. After earning her Bachelor’s degree from Beloit College, Sally went on to receive a Master’s from the University of Oregon, launching a distinguished career in education.

She taught and mentored with patience and conviction in Hawaii, Kansas, and California, where she particularly enjoyed guiding middle school students. Equally committed to her husband’s ministry, Sally served alongside David with generosity and steadfast partnership, helping to nurture their church communities wherever they lived. A loyal friend to many, she cherished her dogs, championed the underdog, and brought joy to countless Bridge games, PEO gatherings, sporting events, and family celebrations.

Sally is survived by her children and grandchildren: Alex, Bethany, AJ, Noah, Abby, Mason, Rubie, Maxx, and Rowan Hansen; Allison, Evren, Dilara, Seha, and Asim Celik; and Elizabeth, Milena, and Matis Hansen Devaux. Her life of love, service, and connection remains a lasting gift to all who knew her.
