Sallie Seavy ObituaryObituary published on Legacy.com by Gray Memorial Chapel & Crematory on Mar. 16, 2026.Sallie Louise Seavy passed away Sunday, March 15, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. A graveside service will be held Saturday, March 21, 2026, at Parkway Memorial Gardens, 720 Carl Vinson Parkway, Warner Robins, Georgia at 11:00 AM with a visitation for family and friends to follow. Deacon Don Coates will officiate.Sallie was a devout Catholic and member of Saint Joseph Catholic Church. She will be remembered for her witty disposition. She loved her family and was generous in spirit and loved very deeply. Sallie loved to read and would visit the libraries in whatever town she lived becoming a library patron. Her faith can be defined by her prayer list and confirmation of her interest in the lives of her family. She was a prayer warrior for those she loved and those she knew. That love ran deep and was felt by those who knew her best and will continue to be a source of strength and comfort. Born in 1929 she would wittingly say, "I was born in the depression, and I've been depressed ever since."Sallie was born in Morehead City, North Carolina and raised in Beaufort, North Carolina to the late James Wallace Mason and Sally Rebecca Best Mason. She was also preceded in death by her husband, John Frederick Seavy, brother, James W. Mason Jr., sister, Rebecca Jordan, and great-grandson Gabriel Seavy.Sallie is survived by her son, John Seavy Jr., daughter, Patricia (Clifford) Layson, and son, Ernie Seavy,10 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, 4 great-great grandchildren, 2 sisters-in-law, and many nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers the family request that donations be made to Depaul USA Daybreak Resource Center, 174 Walnut St., Macon, Georgia, 31201.Gray Memorial Chapel is honored to be entrusted with the care of the Sallie Seavy family.
