Crothersville, IN

Ryan Thomas Hunt, 45, of Crothersville, passed away on March 7, 2026, at his home. Born on August 25, 1980, to Richard (Katie) Hunt and Rhonda (Jim) McCammon, Ryan grew up surrounded by family and friends who came to know him as a dependable, hardworking man always willing to lend a hand. A 1999 graduate of Crothersville High School, he built a life rooted in his hometown and the people he loved most.

On March 23, 2002, Ryan married the love of his life, Kara J. Hunt, at the Crothersville United Methodist Church. Together they created a home filled with love and laughter, taking special pride in their two sons, Ean Hunt and Evan (Rachel McDonald) Hunt. Ryan worked as a Maintenance Tech at Idemitsu Lubricants in Jeffersonville, where his strong work ethic and practical skills were greatly valued. He was happiest when staying busy at home, whether working outside, fixing what needed attention, or helping others with a project, always doing so with quiet pride.

A member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, Ryan found joy in golfing, fishing, and collecting sports cards. Above all, he loved being there for those around him. If something needed fixing—especially for Grandma Bonnie—Ryan was the one everyone could count on.

He is survived by his loving wife, Kara J. (Sturgeon) Hunt; sons Ean Hunt and Evan (Rachel McDonald) Hunt; father Richard (Katie) Hunt; mother Rhonda Seal (Jim) McCammon; siblings Rhea Heather (Roger) Quillen, Richie (Hollie Hagen) Hunt, Rachel (Curtis) Haines, and Wendi (Derek) Turner; brothers-in-law Jordan (Kristen) Koerner and Nathan (Hannah) Sturgeon; grandma-in-law Bonnie Masters; in-laws Mike & Debbie Sturgeon and Ed & Tammy Koerner; several nephews; and his loyal dogs, Annie & Lucy. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Milum & Joann Seal and Thelma Cheatham.
