Ruth Turner Wells

Ruth Turner Wells, a cherished homemaker and beloved community member, passed away on Tuesday, March 10, 2026, at the Hazard ARH Medical Center in Hazard, Kentucky, at the age of 64. Born on March 23, 1961, in Leslie County, Kentucky, she devoted her life to loving and serving her family and friends as a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

Ruth created a warm and loving home for her family. She was the proud mother of two sons, Arthur Wells and his wife Heather, and Josh Wells. She found great joy in her grandsons, Wilson Wells, Lindsey Wells, William Wells, and Bentley Wells, and her heart overflowed with pride and happiness at the arrival of her great-granddaughters, Sophia Wells and Madilyn Wells.

A lifelong member of the Full Gospel Church of Jesus Christ at Smilax, Kentucky, Ruth drew strength and comfort from her faith, which guided her through life’s challenges and reflected her deep values and love for those around her. She had a passion for flower gardening and cooking, which she generously shared with her loved ones, and she treasured the time spent creating lasting memories with her family.

Ruth was predeceased by her husband, William Wells, her parents, Arthur Turner and Lula M. Wells Turner, and a host of brothers and sisters. She leaves behind a family who will carry her spirit of love, laughter, and joy in their hearts always.
