Ruth was born April 26, 1943 in Jersey City, NJ to the late Harry Trubenbach and Amelia Ropke.Ruth always knew that she wanted to be a wife and mother. Ruth was married to Otto for 59 wonderful years. Ruth was a very involved mother, working in Leptondale Elementary School as a monitor, a leader in the Girl Scout troop, and she was involved with 4-H. Ruth was also a bookkeeper for her husband and son's business (Otto's Garage and Body Shop) for some time. After raising her two children, Ruth carried on being a devoted grandmother to her four grandchildren.Ruth was preceded in death by her loving husband, Otto Stenglein and her brothers: Edward and Herbert Trubenbach. She is survived by her children: Ed (Snooper) Stenglein (Kim) and Nancy Stenglein. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Jennifer Mathias (Nick), Travis Mathias (Kelsey), Conner Stenglein (Rachel), and Morgen Stenglein.Ruth had a passion for crafting, cooking, and baking. She taught ceramics for many years in her home and crafted greeting cards that she would bring to local vendor fairs and send out at Christmastime. Ruth also loved her time with family, hosting "Friday Night Pizza," in which she made her own dough and sauce, having the grandchildren over to decorate Easter eggs, and filling her whole dining room with German donuts and cookies to gift to friends and family around the holidays. She is lovingly remembered for these things, among countless others.Calling hours will be held on: Thursday, March 12th from 4-7pm at the DiDonato Funeral Home, 1290 Route 9W, Marlboro to which family and friends are invited.In lieu of flowers, the family requests you consider making a donation to Hospice of Orange and Sullivan.To plant trees in memory, please visit the Sympathy Store.
