She was a woman of grace, intellect, and kindness.Born in Tenafly, New Jersey, she was the daughter of Sidney J. Carlson and Mildred (Miller) Carlson. She attended Cedar Crest College, where she earned a Biology degree. She went on to earn a M.Ed. from Lehigh University.Ruth was preceded in death by her beloved husband, John A. Moyer, with whom she shared over 50 years of marriage.Ruth enjoyed gardening, bird watching, book club, PEO, singing in the choir, and traveling. She also made the best pie in town! Her favorite destination was Stone Harbor, NJ, where many of the family's most cherished memories were made.Ruth's greatest pride was her family. She was a constant, supportive presence in the lives of her children and grandchildren, and she delighted in seeing her legacy continue through her great-grandchildren. She is survived by her daughters Wendy (Eric) Rudolph of Ambler and Melissa (Doug Frey) Maurer of Pipersville, her sister Deanne (Gary) Warner, her grandchildren Katherine (Andrew Barnell) Rudolph, Michele (Taku Ito) Rudolph, Melissa Rudolph, Christian Rudolph, Jane Maurer, Molly Maurer and multiple great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her granddaughter, Hannah.A memorial service will be held 11:00am Saturday, March 21, 2026 at EverTrue Luther Crest, 800 Hausman Rd, Allentown.To plant trees in memory, please visit the Sympathy Store.
