Ruth Green

Ruth E. Green, 94, of Vancouver, Washington, passed away peacefully on March 3, 2026, at Ray Hickey Hospice House, surrounded by loved ones.

Born on June 20, 1931, in Glenns Ferry, Idaho, to Robert L. Wood and Emmy Charlotte Boetcher, Ruth married her high school sweetheart, Gerald “Jerry” Green, on September 3, 1950. A devoted homemaker, she found joy in painting with friends for many years and remained active in P.E.O., Eastern Star, and Tri Delta Alumnae. Together with Jerry, she raised two daughters and shared a rich life centered on their church, community, travel, and the arts. They were married for 51 years before Jerry’s passing in December 2001.

Ruth is survived by her daughters, Jeralyn Green and Martha “Marty” Palmer (George); four grandchildren, Michael, Cindy, Sheila, and Emmy; thirteen great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. She was a loving aunt to her sister’s children and their families. Her family continues to grow with love, and they cherish their memories of her.
