Ruth Gertrude (Karstaedt) Csida Meier, 96, of Kaukauna, formerly of Manitowoc, passed away on March 9, 2026, at St. Paul Home in Kaukauna.

Born on December 26, 1929, in the town of Newton to Otto and Ida (Heckmann) Karstaedt, Ruth lived a life grounded in quiet strength and devotion to family. She married Jerome Csida on November 3, 1951; he preceded her in death in 1990. On April 12, 2003, she married John “Jack” Meier, who passed away in 2010. Ruth worked for 15 years at Ariens in Brillion and then spent 17 years at the New Hope Center in Chilton before retiring.

A longtime member of Bethany Lutheran Church and the Happy Hoppers, Ruth found joy in playing cards, crocheting, gardening, cooking, and baking. Above all, she cherished time spent with her family.

She is survived by her children, Cheryl (Randall) Welch of Tucson, Arizona, and Jason (Vicki) Csida of Appleton; grandchildren Clayton (Danielle) Welch, Natalie Welch, Travis (Jaime) Welch, Ryan Csida, and Lucas Csida; great-grandchildren Anne, Elijah, Jane, Matthew, James, and Marie; stepchildren Ken (Patricia) Meier, Raphael “Ray” (Julianna) Meier, Joy (Thomas) Kearney, and Thomas (Kate) Meier; 12 step-grandchildren; 18 step-great-grandchildren; and three sisters-in-law, Judith Karstaedt, Mabel Meier, and Dorothy Labitzky. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, her son Jeffrey, and many beloved siblings.
