On March 14, 2026, she peacefully went to be with her Lord and Savior while at home, surrounded by the love of her children.Memorial services will be held at 10:30 am, Wednesday, March 18, 2026 at the Callaway-Smith-Cobb Funeral Home in Marlow, Oklahoma.Ruth's life was centered around the people she loved most. She leaves behind her children, Steve Vang and wife Kim, Fonda Hobbs, and Kevin Vang; her brother, John Woods and wife Jane; 10 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. She is also lovingly remembered by many cousins, nieces, nephews, and dear friends whose lives she touched in countless ways.In 1992, Ruth married the love of her life, Chuck Baker. Together they shared 32 wonderful years filled with laughter, adventure, and devotion until his passing in October 2024.Ruth grew up in Fort Supply, Oklahoma, where she graduated from high school. She spent part of her early years working at the family business, Woods Grocery, and later worked for many years as a groundskeeper at Boiling Springs State Park. Ruth and Chuck eventually purchased a semi-truck and enjoyed traveling the country together while driving for Swift Transportation. After retiring, Ruth continued to stay busy delivering flowers for Cherry Blossom Florist, bringing smiles to many with each delivery and taking joy in spreading kindness wherever she went.Ruth was affectionately known as the family's "Gadget Queen." If there was a new kitchen tool, gardening appliance, or yard gadget on the market, Ruth likely already had it. She never passed up a good garage sale and loved the thrill of discovering hidden treasures. She also had a deep and tender love for animals of all kinds.Above all else, Ruth cherished her family. She made sure every birthday was celebrated and every milestone remembered, always making those she loved feel special and appreciated.Ruth was a woman of deep and unwavering faith, and her relationship with God was a cornerstone of her life. After living in Woodward, where she was a member of Sure Foundation, she later made her home at Lake Humphreys in Marlow and became a cherished member of Hilltop Church of God.Ruth was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Chuck Baker; her grandsons, Benjamin Hobbs and Travis Hobbs; and many of her siblings.Her kindness, laughter, and love for her family will be remembered always and carried forward by all who knew and loved her.To plant trees in memory, please visit the Sympathy Store.
