Ruth Ellen House

Ruth Ellen House, 70, of Evansville, Indiana, passed away on March 12, 2026, at the Heritage Center in Evansville. Born on April 11, 1955, in Evansville to Clarence Harold and Anna Lou (Brandenstein) Hess, Ruth dedicated two decades of her career as a Registered Nurse at St. Mary’s Hospital and another ten years at Good Samaritan. She found simple joys in celebrating Christmas, playing bingo, and watching the Hallmark channel.

She is survived by her daughter, Lori Crawford (Mike); her son, Ricky House; her sister, Sharon Peyton; her brothers, Benny Hess (Tammy) and Ron Hess; her sister-in-law, Suzy Cox (Dan); nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Harold Hess, and her brother-in-law Ron Peyton.

Ruth’s family will always remember her caring spirit and the love she shared with those closest to her.
