Ruth Aspinwall ObituaryObituary published on Legacy.com by Burns Funeral Home of Mayo on Mar. 17, 2026.It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Ruth Elizabeth Aspinwall, who left us peacefully on March 16, 2026, at the age of 77. Born on February 3, 1949, in Blackshear, GA, to Reppard and Miley Courson Allen. She was a graduate of Pierce County High School. Ruth was a devoted caregiver known for her warmth and compassion, spending her life dedicated to helping others in the elder care industry. She was of the Baptist Faith and a member of Brewer Lake Baptist Church in Day, FL.Ruth made her home in Blackshear, GA and moved to Mayo, FL, in 2015 where she was surrounded by the love of her family, especially her cherished daughter, Bonnie Buchanan. Known for her kind spirit and sweet smile, she always made time for family gatherings, and her greatest joy came from the moments spent with loved ones.She was preceded in death by: her parents, Reppard and Miley Allen; 3 brothers, Theldon, Ralph, and Alfred Allen; and 2 sisters, Idell Cheshire and Sue Brock.Ruth is survived by: her daughter, Bonnie Buchanan, and husband Richard, of Mayo; 3 grandchildren, Connor, Camden, and Callie; her sister, Shirley Robbins, of Gray, GA; 2 beloved sisters-in-law, Jan Allen, of Blackshear, and Teresa Allen, of Alma, GA; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.Funeral services will be held at 1:00PM on Friday, March 20, 2026 at Brewer Lake Baptist Church with. Rev. Damien Walker officiating. Interment will follow in Day Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Brewer Lake Baptist Church at 231 NW Fulton St, Mayo, FL 32066.
