Rusty Brashier ObituaryObituary published on Legacy.com by King & Shearwood Funeral Home Inc on Mar. 16, 2026.Rusty Alan Brashier, age 59, passed away peacefully at home in Lequire, Oklahoma, on March 15, 2026. Rusty was born on June 28, 1966. Ten months later, he was adopted by Orval & Pearl Brashier of Porum, Oklahoma. He attended Porum School, where he graduated in 1984. He then attended Oklahoma State University until 1987. He went on to study Trauma/Critical Care/Neonatal Transport at Rose State College. He fulfilled his dream of becoming a paramedic so he could help people. He worked in many surrounding towns, including Sallisaw, Muldrow, Muskogee, McAlester, Eufaula, and Stigler. Rusty is survived by one daughter, Mary McColough of Tulsa, OK; his two sisters, Sondra Davis & her husband Ronnie, of Lequire, OK; Judy Damron, of Muskogee, OK; his two nieces, Misty Carter & her husband Melvin, of Porum, OK; Vhea Cannon, of Dallas, TX. His two nephews, Randall Talley, of Sallisaw, OK; and Derek Cannon, and wife Cricket of Dallas, TX. Rusty was always proud to say that he was a great uncle. His great nieces & nephews include Joshua Smith, Michael Smith, Matthew Rider, Holly Talley, Erin Cox, Sydne Talley, RJ Talley, and Drew Cannon. Rusty was even more proud when he became a great-great uncle. His great-great nieces & nephews include Haylee Smith, Maycee Jones, Dayson Jones, Skyler Collins, Connally Waltermire, Kashton Austin, Levi Kidwell, Bodhi Kidwell, and Lillian Elkins. He was also survived by one aunt, Joyce Archa, of Checotah. Along with numerous other family members and a host of great friends. Rusty was preceded in death by his parents, Orval & Pearl Brashier, several aunts, uncles, and cousins.Celebration of Life Service will be held March 19th, 2026 2:00 P.M. at R.E.
