Russell Dean Trexler

Russell Dean Trexler, age 90 of West Plains, Missouri, was born on April 11, 1935, in Carbondale, Illinois, and passed away on March 7, 2026, at his home.

He retired from the United States Marine Corps after twenty years of service, having served in both Korea and Vietnam. A long-time member of the Clifton Masonic Lodge in Thayer, Missouri, Russell lived a life defined by duty, quiet strength, and deep loyalty to family and friends.

He is survived by his four children, Fred Trexler of Pasadena, California, Mary Szostkowski of Hemet, California, Debora Brown of London, Ontario, and Robin York of Springfield, Missouri; grandchildren Cody Ary, Tony Ary, and Jimmy Ary; numerous great-grandchildren; special son Tony Krusen and wife Cassie of Thayer, Missouri; special grandchildren Leslie Altermat, Josh Krusen, Walker Krusen, and Wyatt Aitken; several great-grandchildren; sister-in-law Kat Singletary; nephews Michael and James; niece Kimberly; and a host of other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jesse Allen and Nellie Ann (Lentz) Trexler; his wife, Wanda (Singletary) Trexler; five siblings, Roy Allen, Nellie, Dorothy, Virginia, and Juanita; and a nephew, Brandon Witt.
