Ruperta Morales Gonzalez

Ruperta Morales Gonzalez, 91, of Roscoe, passed away on Monday, March 16, 2026, at Hendrick Medical Center in Abilene. Born on March 27, 1934, in Columbus, Texas, to Concepcion and Rosalia (Garcia) Morales, she was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother whose quiet strength and deep faith touched everyone who knew her.

She married the love of her life, Roberto Gonzalez, on June 7, 1963, in Houston, Texas. Together they built a life centered on family, eventually settling in Roscoe. Ruperta’s gentle spirit, steadfast love, and enduring Catholic faith remained at the heart of her home for more than six decades.

She is survived by her husband, Roberto Gonzalez of Roscoe; her daughter, Diane VanSteenburg of Abilene; her sons, Stephen Gonzalez of Abilene and Robert “Bobby” Gonzalez of Roscoe; and her grandchildren, Cristina Romano of Houston, Alma Ruperta Gonzalez of Austin, and Riley VanSteenburg of Alexandria, Virginia.
