Rudolph "Rudy" Bowling, age 92, passed away at home on March 12, 2026. Rudy was born in Sandy Hook, Kentucky to the late Robert and Eliza Bowling on January 9, 1934.
He is preceded in death by the love of his life - his wife of 56 years - Marcia Bowling; and siblings, Kurt (Polly), Effie, Robert (Betty), Chester, Marie (Jake), Tennyson (Maxine), and Otto.
He is survived by his sons, Jeff (Ann), and Thomas (Carol); grandchildren, Brandon (Lilly), William, David, Adele (Austin), Joseph (Carissa), Caitlin, Sophia, James, and Joshua; great-grandchildren, Braxton, Ezra, Sawyer, Alice, and Westley; siblings, Orbie (Donna Dec.), Douglas (Teresa), and Sarah Jane; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
He was drafted and served in the United States Army from 1954 to 1956.
We will always remember Rudy's loving devotion to his family, his reliability and quiet strength, his great story narration, his legendary green thumb and ability to fix almost anything, and his love of the Sandy Hook countryside.
