Hannibal, OH
Ruby M. Bachman, 71, of Hannibal, Ohio, passed away on March 9, 2026, at Select Specialty Hospital in Wheeling, West Virginia. Born on May 8, 1954, in New Martinsville, West Virginia, she was the daughter of the late George and Betty Schoonover Huffman.
Ruby retired from the Switzerland of Ohio School District. She was a longtime member of the Church of God in Duffy, Ohio, and Moose Lodge #931 in New Martinsville, West Virginia, and she volunteered with Helping Hand. She found her deepest joy in the quiet beauties of the natural world. Many will remember her sitting peacefully on her front porch, watching butterflies dance among the blooms of her beloved butterfly bushes. Her yard was a true labor of love, where she spent countless hours gardening, tending flowers, and caring for her lawn with patience and devotion.
Ruby possessed a gentle spirit and a profound appreciation for nature. Whether planting flowers, working outdoors, or simply savoring a quiet afternoon in the sun, she embraced life’s simple moments with gratitude and grace. Her home was a place of warmth and calm, and her presence brought kindness and serenity to everyone around her.
She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Brad Bachman; two sons, Christian (Sherry) Bachman and Ryan (Leslie Day) Bachman, both of New Martinsville, West Virginia; two sisters, her twin Judy Hall of Poland, Ohio, and Debbie Walters of Wytheville, Virginia; a brother, Eugene Huffman of New Martinsville, West Virginia; four grandsons, Bill (Erin) Feeney, Joe (Hope) Feeney, Lucas Day, and Liam Day; and four nieces, Caitlyn Patterson, Kelly Benton, Amanda Young, and Portia Wayts-Merideth.
