September 7, 1935— March 14, 2026
Wattsburg, PA
Ruby Wilkinson Kimball, age 90 of Wattsburg, passed away on Saturday, March 14, 2026, surrounded by her family. Born at home on September 7, 1935, in Greenfield Township, she was the daughter of the late Norman H. and Beatrice (Whitney) Wilkinson.
A graduate of Wattsburg High School, Ruby was a devoted member of the First Baptist Church of North East, where she served as a youth leader, taught Sunday School, and participated in Orange Point and card club. She was also a lifelong active member of the Hornby School Restoration Society. Over the years, she worked as a secretary to Dr. Carl Karsch, as a tax collector for Greenfield Township, for the Northwest Tri-County Intermediate Unit #5, and with the US Postal Service. For more than two decades, she and her husband owned Kimball’s Hardware in Wattsburg. Together they produced maple syrup for 37 years and shared a deep commitment to the North American Maple Syrup Council, the Pennsylvania Maple Syrup Producers Council, and the Northwest Pennsylvania Maple Syrup Producers Association. Ruby found great joy in cooking, gardening, the outdoors, traveling, and exploring genealogy alongside her sister-in-law, Wilda Resinger.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Burton Jay Kimball, the love of her life, and by her sister, Janice Lindsey.
Ruby is survived by her son, Ben Kimball, and daughter, Lesa Kimball, both of Wattsburg; granddaughter Jill Kimball (Casey) of North East; sisters Norma Youngs (Dave) of North East and Sharon Utegg of Findley Lake; and many nieces and nephews.
