Ruby Irene Petit Hopkins

Ruby Petit Hopkins, age 97, of Archer City, Texas passed away Monday, March 16, 2026, in Hospice of Wichita Falls.

Graveside services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 17, 2026, in the Archer City cemetery with Lisa Musgrave of Archer City officiating.  Arrangements are under the direction of Aulds Funeral Home of Archer City.

Ruby was born June 9, 1928 to the late George Washington Petit and Viola Ertis Doran in Graham, Texas.

She married Harol Hopkins on December 25, 1970 in Archer City.  He preceded her in death on September 18, 2003.

Ruby lived a life of hard work and simple joys.  She enjoyed fishing and gardening.  She also raised chickens and sold their eggs to the public.  Ruby was a skilled seamstress, sewing cheerleader uniforms and football jackets.

Survivors include two daughters, Shirley Roberts and Sandra Enos and husband, Carl all of Archer City; sister, Corene; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one son, Richard Bracey; two sisters, DeeDee and Janie; four brothers, Doug, Joe, Robert Andrew, Bonnie Petit.
