Ruby Daniels Rachal

Ruby was born on December 23, 1929, to Henry Daniels and Lessie McDonald Daniels in Castor, Louisiana. She joined the church at an early age in Castor and, after moving to Shreveport, became a member of New Elizabeth Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Dr. Danny Mitchell, Sr. She remained a faithful member there until her health began to decline.

A domestic worker for most of her life, Ruby was the devoted mother of three children: Larry Rachal (Patricia), Rose Daniels Brown (Elton), and her son Steve Rachal, who preceded her in death.

She leaves to cherish her memory three grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by seven brothers and one sister. She is survived by her sister Bessie Davis of Shreveport, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends, as well as her bonus son Dr. Paul Wilson, Sr., bonus son Gregory Givens, and bonus granddaughter Carmel Ware.
