Royal Hofacker

With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Royal Hofacker of Defiance, Ohio, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on March 8, 2026 at the age of 90. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Hofacker and Iva Hofacker (Taylor); his son Troy Hofacker; his stepson Mark Zinser; and his siblings, Charles, Gerald, Luke, Ray Hofacker, Tabitha Burt, Helen Yeutter, Becky Miracle and Betty Bambalough.

He is survived by: his wife Janet Hofacker of Defiance; his children, Ricky Hofacker of Whitehouse, OH and Kathleen Cooper (Wally) of Defiance; his stepsons, Russ Zinser (Mary) of Woodburn, IN and Jeff Zinser (Cindy) of Genoa, OH.; and his siblings, Bill Hofacker and Ilo Marvin (Lloyd). He is also survived by 12 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 11th 2026 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Schaffer Funeral Home (529 Jefferson Ave, Defiance, OH 43512). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, March 12th 2026 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
