He was born September 3, 1949 in Chaplin to the late Russell and Dorothy Coulter. Roy was a retired custodian for Bardstown City Schools, was a former employee of Think Packaging, and was a United States Army veteran. In his spare time, he enjoyed woodworking.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Louise Wolverton and 2 brothers, Jerry Coulter and Gerald Coulter.He is survived by his wife, Jean Berry Coulter, his daughter, Crystal Coulter (Greg Mattingly) of Howardstown, his son, Scott Coulter (Amber Nicole) of Bloomfield, 7 sisters, Genevieve Boyd of Bardstown, Darlene Mattingly of Bloomfield, Emma Drury (Mark), Linda Perry, both of Lawrenceburg, Glenna Beavers (Dewayne) of Louisville, Diane Montgomery (David), Donna Rawlinson, both of Bloomfield, 2 brothers, Bill Coulter of Bardstown, Marvin Coulter (Diane) of Chaplin, as well as 5 grandchildren. Several nieces and nephews also survive.Funeral services for Mr. Roy Thomas Coulter will be 11:00 am Friday, March 20, 2026 at the Houghlin Funeral Home in Bloomfield. Bro. Winfred Hagerman will officiate. Interment will be in Lebanon National Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday from 3:00-8:00 pm and Friday after 9:00 am until time of the funeral service. The Houghlin Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.To plant trees in memory, please visit the Sympathy Store.
