Roy Milton “Pie” Cobb, Jr., age 72, of Thomson, Georgia, passed away at his residence on Monday, March 9, 2026. Born on April 7, 1953, in Thomson, he was the son of the late Roy Milton Cobb, Sr. and Catherine Johnson Cobb.

A 1971 graduate of Thomson High School, Roy continued his education at Augusta Area Technical School. He gave his life to Christ at an early age at Vanderhorst C.M.E. Church, where he faithfully served in the Youth Choir, on the Usher Board, and as Assistant Sunday School Superintendent. Known for his strong work ethic, he spent 15 years at Kingsley-Mills before enjoying a 28-year career as a mechanic at Fort Gordon. In his free time, he found peace in traveling, fishing, and hunting, though nothing brought him greater joy than being surrounded by his family and friends.

He is survived by his devoted wife of 52 years, Sarah F. Cobb of Thomson; his children, Zavion Antonio “Tony” Cobb of Beech Island, South Carolina, and Krystal Michelle Cobb of Warrenton, Georgia; his siblings, Moses R. Cobb, Sr. of Thomson and Fonda A. Cobb of Augusta; and his three cherished grandchildren, Kennedi Ariyana Jenkins, Alyssa Rae Jenkins, and Lori Elle Jenkins. He also leaves behind six bonus grandchildren, two aunts, Mary Alice Benning and Bernice Cobb, both of Thomson, one niece, Va’Jillian C. Cobb of Augusta, two nephews, Moses R. “Randy” Cobb, Jr. and Gregory Noel Brisco, II, both of Augusta, three sisters-in-law, Barbara T. (Moses) Wilcher and Wendy Thomas, both of Thomson, and Joyce (Stanley) Chapman of Atlanta, and four brothers-in-law, Leroy Donnell (Teresa) Thomas of Springfield, Tennessee, Ralph Edward Thomas of Thomson, Edgar Lazenby, Sr. of Dearing, and Charles Butler of Decatur, along with a host of other relatives and friends who will miss him dearly.
