Roy Mammen

Roy V. Mammen, 68, son of the late P. P. Mammen and Saramma Mammen, passed away on March 9, 2026. Born in Trivandrum, India, he lived in Kuwait, Delhi, and the United States, making his home in Oklahoma, New York, and Texas.

In 1987 he married Jolly, daughter of the late P. M. Mathew and Sosamma Mathew, in New York. Together they shared 38 years of marriage and raised two daughters, Becky and Lydia. Roy worked at UT Health Science Center and later retired from Sysco Corporation. He cherished the many deep friendships he formed and kept throughout his life.

A devoted family man grounded in his faith in Jesus, Roy found joy in traveling, spending time in nature, and gathering with family and church friends. He loved good food, told stories with humor, and was a natural planner. Even while battling ALS, he remained a tireless advocate for others with chronic illness, facing every day with thankfulness and an unwavering dependence on God. He delighted in sharing his love for Jesus with everyone he met.

He is survived by his wife, Jolly Mammen; daughters Becky and Nathan Mathew, and Lydia and Abel Joseph; grandchildren Eliyanah, Raphael, Ezekiel, Hosanna, and Eden; and siblings Georgi Parayil, Susan Varghese, and Valsa Jacob.
