Roy Lee Pogue

Roy Lee Pogue, 66, of Jay, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully on March 9, 2026 at the home of his sister Cindy Dilbeck. Born with Down Syndrome on December 11, 1959 in Springfield, Missouri to Ray and Argie Pogue, Roy lived a full and joyful life that taught those around him about unconditional love and the importance of finding happiness in the little things.

Roy was known for his loving personality and his unique sayings. He never met a stranger. A cherished member of his family, he loved fishing, collecting “treasure,” going for car rides, meeting people while shopping, his favorite cat, Dr. Pepper, and everything about Christmas. Roy brought a unique, pure perspective to life and reminded everyone to embrace joy.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ray and Argie Pogue; his brother, Lonnie Jones; his brother and sister-in-law, Bud and Sherry Pogue; his brother-in-law, Calvin Dilbeck; his nephew, Jamie Pogue; and his niece, Shannon Pogue.

Roy is survived by his brother and sister-in-law, Rick and Melissa Pogue; his sisters, Cindy Dilbeck and Brenda Cantrell; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and friends.
