He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert L. Burns and Myrtle Page Burns; and his sister Minnie Lou Cooper Forbus. He is survived by: his daughters, Amy Watridge (Benjie), Suzanne Lanthrip (Billy), Christina Burns, Clairessa Armbruster (Billy) and Caitlynn Simpson (James); his sisters, Ruby Burns-Ward (Bill), Ola Allen (Buster) and Becky Smith; his grandchildren, Ben Watridge, Ashtin Hunter, Chaney Lanthrip, Brantley Waggoner, Kellie Waggoner, Carson Armbruster, Crimson Armbruster, Luke Armbruster and Leeroy Simpson; and his great grandchildren, Avaline and Remi Kate Hunter. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, March 17th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the Pleasant Hill Cemetery (Luckey Cemetery).
