Roy Gene Releford, affectionately known as “Nutty,” was born on February 6, 1950, in Muldrow, Oklahoma, to Ocie and Emma Releford. A longtime member of New Life Baptist Church in Fort Smith, Arkansas, he graduated from Roland High School before moving to Flint, Michigan, where he began a 30-year career with General Motors. After retiring, he returned to Muldrow, the place he always considered home.

Roy was known for his kind heart and generous spirit. He never turned away anyone in need, enjoyed lively conversations, and treasured every moment spent with family and friends. His warmth and steady presence left a lasting impression on all who knew him.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Releford; daughters Danisha Richardson (James) of Davison, Michigan, and Serena Smith of Fort Smith, Arkansas; son Samuel K. Smith of Manvel, Texas; sisters Barbara Richardson of Roland and Maxine Collins of Muldrow; brother James Releford of Muldrow; nine grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.
