Roy Francis Gerber

Roy Francis Gerber, age 80, of Salt Lake City, Utah, passed away on March 7, 2026, at the William E. Christoffersen Veterans Home.

Born on March 17, 1945, in Huntington Park, California, to Adele Frances Conant and Herald Ulrich Gerber, Roy joined the United States Marine Corps in 1963. He later served as a law enforcement officer in Los Angeles and continued his commitment to helping young people as a Juvenile Correctional Officer.

In 1965, Roy became a father for the first time, an experience that shaped the rest of his life. He went on to become the proud father of ten children, a role he cherished deeply. Though life’s circumstances sometimes created distance, he loved his children profoundly and took great pride in the family that carries his legacy.

Roy held a deep love for learning and spoke with joy about the gospel, Jesus, God’s grace, and the blessings he saw woven through everyday life. A dedicated temple worker, his faith and service remained central to who he was.

He is survived by his ten children and their families: Kenneth (Evelyn, Nicolas, Wesley); DeAnndra (Dan, Monique, Melissa, Justine, Lily, Raeley); Nolan (Jessie, Jasmine, Kaia); Howard (Jenni, Olivia); Brian (Aurora), Jeremy (Mandi, Kanoa); Ray (Natasha, Abram, Alek); Roylene (Derrick, Beckett, Davis); Ted (Andrea, Chloe, Kaden); and Sarah (Zach, Ebony, Elora, Cameron, Elsie).
