Roy Dunn

Roy Dunn, born in 1966, entered eternal rest on February 25, 2026, at the age of 59. He was the devoted son of the late Lucretia Brown and Bernard Dunn. Roy attended John McDonough High School and later accepted Christ as his personal savior. He was baptized at Mt. Olive Baptist Church No. 1 in Algiers, Louisiana, under the leadership of the late Rev. Myles Roy, where he faithfully served as an usher.

Roy is survived by his three children, Tristin Simmons, Sr. (Nadia), Ava, and Krishaunda Dunn; his stepson, Terrell Andrews; and his niece Irma Dunn, whom he lovingly adopted as a daughter. He was the proud grandfather of Cori’Naja Williams, Cam, Charlie, D’yani Dunn, Chase Stirgus, Tristin Jr., Trinity, and True Simmons, Terrell Jr., and King Andrew. Roy was the brother of Annie, Erostine, Wade, Eric, and Kim (Michelle) Dunn, and the late Ava Dunn. He was also the foster son of the late Ana and Pat Crawford, the godfather of James Toles and Artesia Roy, and is survived by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.

Those who knew Roy will remember a man who cherished his family and remained rooted in his faith throughout his life.
