Roy Powell ObituaryObituary published on Legacy.com by Davis & Powell Funeral Home, LLC on Mar. 10, 2026.Roy Douglas Powell, affectionately known as "Bogie", departed this life on March 8, 2026 at the Compassionate Care Center in Richmond, Kentucky after a long battle with lung cancer. He was born on May 20, 1955, to Flo Hill and the late Roy Elmo Powell. Bogie is survived by his mother, one daughter, Leah Mae Miller, one granddaughter, Chloie Aalexis Miller, two sisters, Angela Rose Kelly (Ralph) and Jennifer Hill, one niece, Iris Ann Owen (Jesse), one nephew, Austin Edward Kelly, and two great-nieces, Liv Rose Owen and Vida Rose Owen. He was preceded in death by his father and an infant brother, Danny Powell. Bogie was known for his long, beautiful braids, and his appreciation of Native American culture. As an avid outdoorsman, He loved hiking the woods searching for mushrooms, ginseng, and arrowheads. Bogie was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church.At the request of Bogie and his family cremation will take place with memorial services being held at a later date.To plant trees in memory, please visit the Sympathy Store.
