It is with heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Roxanne Newsom, our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. She was welcomed into eternal rest on March 16, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family.
She deeply loved spending time with her family and friends and found great joy in caring for her plants and flowers. Her home and garden reflected the warmth and love she shared with everyone around her. Roxanne was a beautiful soul, always offering a warm smile and helping hand to those around her. She took great joy in her role as a bank teller in the banking industry for many years, where she made lasting connections with her colleagues and customers alike.
Those left to cherish her memory include her loving husband, Michael Newsom; her children, Kerry Hebert (Michael), Mallory Fontenot (Matthew), and Morgan Istre; and her stepchildren, Nick Newsom (Lacie) and Chasidy Newsom. She was the proud grandmother of 10 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren, all of whom brought great joy to her life.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Bernice Kibodeaux and Amos LeJeune; as well as Ella Mae Broussard, Tiffany Newsom, Clara Patin, Robert LeJeune, and Esther LeMaire.A gathering of friends and family will be held on Thursday March 19, 2026, at Miguez Funeral Home in Jennings from 2:00 PM until 8:00 PM with a rosary being held in the chapel at 6:00 PM.Visitation will resume on Friday March 20, 2026, from 8:00 AM until the time to depart for Mass at 1:30 PM.A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday March 20, 2026 at 2:00 PM, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with Father Anil Alexander officiating. She will be laid to rest in St. Anthony Cemetery in Lake Arthur, LA. Serving as pallbearers will be Michael Hebert, Trae Hebert, Tanner Hebert, Matthew Fontenot, Nick Newsom, Tyler Newsom, and serving as honorary pallbearers will be Tate Newsom and Beckett Fontenot.
She will be deeply missed and forever loved by all who knew her.The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the compassionate teams at MD Anderson, Lake Charles Memorial, and Lamm Hospice for the care and kindness they provided.
